The Doldrums --> Back when ships were powered by the wind, sailors dreaded getting caught in the doldrums. “The doldrums” is a belt around the Earth near the equator that has little to no wind and characterized by constant rainstorms. Ships could become stranded for days or weeks and run out of food and fresh water to drink. Often, marriages can get stuck in the doldrums. There is little to no growth, things become stale and stagnant, or just blah. Have you ever been there? Are you there now?
